History Lesson:


Tony & I were best friends at Lone Oak High School. He graduated in 1976 and I followed two years later in 1978. We went away to college (mine was a short stint), married other people, had children, divorced and ended up back in Paducah eventually with custody of each of our children. Our first date was January 2, 1988. We married on June 2, 1991. Wow! What a wild 3 1/2 years of dating. We each owned our own homes and went between each others houses with our 6 kids almost daily. Yep. 6 kids. At the time, my children were Casey 8, Crissy 4, and the twins Kinsey and Kurt 3. Tony's were Michelle 7, and Shane 5. After we married in June 1991, we moved into our new house at 805 Denver and started calling ourselves "Unit 8". Our house was always busy and full of life and love as I know all of you friends of our children and our families witnessed over the years. It was kinda sad to sell and leave that house in 2005 but it was time for Tony & I to get on with our lives without the children at home. I still smile every time I pass the house on Denver. Thank you to all of our friends and family and all of our kids friends for making that house what it was. Those memories will be etched forever in our minds.

All Grown Up:


Tony & I sold the house on Denver and bought our house in Lake Forest in April of 2005. We did some significant remodeling, so were unable to move in until late May. We got to spend 3 weeks at the Denton Motel waiting for the house to be finished. What a trip! At the time we had two college graduates, 2 still in college, 1 already working and 1 serving our country in Iraq with the Army. At this time we also had 3 grandchildren. We need to let you know right now that we really have no "step" grandchildren. They are all our grandchildren just like our blended family were all "our" children. Now I will jump to present, 2009, and take it from there. Our children are now Casey 29, Michelle 28, Shane 27, Crissy 25, Kinsey and Kurt 24. We have 9 grandchildren at present and 2 more on the way due later this year. So for now we have Tia 10, Alexis 10, Krysta 8, Kaylee 5, Stone 4, Jade 3, Sydnee 2, Nolan 10 months, and Olyvia 4 weeks. All of the above named will be the subjects in my blogs for we all are the "Unit 8" family.
