Dreaded Swine Flu Booster

Well the time is here again. My Mom & I are taking 4 of our grandkids to the health department today for their swine flu booster shots. You might ask us why we would want to put ourselves through that entire process again. We simply say that we have to finish what we started. The whole idea of this was to take the grandkids so their busy parents wouldn't have to worry themselves with trying to get this done. My Mom is picking me up at 2pm today. I'm sure I will have a story to tell when today is through.
Have I mentioned lately how much I miss my Kurtie! My heart palpitates a little faster each and every time I think of what he is getting ready to go do. Anxiety is a bitch!!!! I may need an upgrade with my daily anxiety meds for the next year. I love you Dierte'!!!

Wow, Wow & Wow!!

WOW!!! Things can get so crazy! I even asked my Mom this morning if she & Dad and Aunt Martha & Uncle Harold would be interested in moving to south Florida with us. She said Dad had talked of that in the past too. Well, we figured we would spend way more money on gas or plane tickets trying to get back up here to handle "stuff". Don't get us wrong, we love it that we are here to help with stuff but it's our old people's nerves that get us down. I now believe every word my Mom has been telling me for the last 30 years about age and a person's physical health and mind. (I hope mine starts an uphill swing really soon.) Mental Health........what a deep thing. Someone needs to come up with a magic injection or transfusion that gets rid of all the mental scars in your brain and lets you start with a brand new mind. Woohoo!

Awwww.................we love ya kids and don't know what we would have ever done without you. Probably a quite boring lonely life so thank you to all of you for your love in return. :-) Actually, the latest "drama" didn't even include any of our kids but I think I may have lost 1/2 year or so of life after those 48 hours. Love to all!!!!!

Chilling last night on the couch watching "The Bachelor" and got a call at 10pm. Libby's expedition petered out on her. In her voice was a little anxiousness with good reason. She & Krysta were smelling a burnt smell so there was no heat. Libby asked for me to please, please come get her babies. I was on the road immediately. Got the girls in my WARM vehicle as soon as I got there. With the wind chill I have no doubt that the temperature was hovering in the lower single digits. Kinda scary. The only positive of all this negativity was that she happened to be able to pull her car over in a repair shop's parking lot. It was mine & Tony's mechanic's garage. He has been repairing our cars for over 10 years now. She dropped me off at home last night and is using Tony's car for now. Still waiting to hear the prognosis on that. BTW, Michelle's car was in the shop for a couple days last week with wheel bearing problems and Shane's vehicle broke down yesterday with what they think is transmission problems. UNIT 8!!!!!!! TAKE A TAXI THE REST OF THE WEEK! DOESN'T LOOK LIKE IT'S A VERY GOOD TIME FOR OUR VEHICLES! haha!!

We leave to take Libby and the girls to see Kurt for the last time in a couple weeks. Will be a very bittersweet few days. I still vividly remember the last time I had to say goodbye to my son as he left for Iraq. I still see myself driving away looking at the vehicle he had climbed into. Very sad experience still etched in my memory. Oh well, enough of that. I'm positive you will hear a whole lot about Kurt over the next year. Damn it!!!! Somebody please do something about all of these middle eastern conflicts with all those crazy people so our HEROES don't have to sacrifice years of their lives and time with their families who also have to suffer because of those idiots over there. Gotta go for now. :-( I love you Kurt!

Christmas Deco Down

Yipee! Jeremy came over today and spent 3 hours putting away all of our Christmas decorations. I don't think I was the last one in the neighborhood to get it done but if I was I'm okay with that. Screw 'em. The removal of ALL of the holiday decorations has made much more room in the house. The playground in my living room doesn't look quite so cramped and small. Haha!
On to other things. Quite a productive day today. Alarm went off at 8:30 this morning and I pushed the snooze and kept on telling Weevil to shut up for about 45 minutes. Finally got up, threw clothes on, made a quickie grocery list (it's gonna snow tomorrow night), grabbed Mom's crock pots and flew out the door. We had to have Tony's Mitsu to the shop by 10am to get the driver's window fixed. It has been stuck down since Sunday morning. (Heck, nobody stole $7 out of his car and the window was down for 48 hours. Dummies!) I was about 5 minutes behind Tony to pick him up. When he got in the X he said he just experienced the coldest trip he'd ever taken. Can't imagine. It was about 15 degrees outside. Brrrrrr!
We next took Libby some formula that a nice lady from the club gave me. I would stop at that but I want to share a funny story that Libby told me this morning. The story is something like this: Her and the girls left for Nashville at 9am to take Tia to the airport for her flight back to Colorado. :-( Anyway, long day for all of them because Tia's flight didn't leave until about 8:30pm but with Libby having all 4 girls with her and a minor having to be checked in 3 hours prior to flight they had to leave mid morning. Weeelllllllll, Sydnee decided she was going to be................Sydnee. Heehee. A guy came up and asked if he could use Libby's charger for his phone. She said yes but beware of the little one. Pretty quickly after that Syd said to this guy "Hi, my name is Sydnee". He introduced then too. She then asked "Do you got any hair underneath there?" (dude had cap on) He responded as he took off his cap "Yes, I just have to keep it short because I am in the army", to which she responded "So is my Daddy & his hair is short too!" Libby said that the guy's girlfriend was sitting a few seats down from them and she leaned over and told Libby "I think he might want kids now." Funny! If the girl only knew about "sweet" little Snurt carrying on this nice conversation with her boyfriend. All of us know Sydnee! Full of life and poopoo and was about to drive her Momma crazy yesterday being a little on the wild side. Heehee!!! I love it!! I just wanted to share this cutie Snurt story. She is something else. I do believe I see quite a bit of her Daddy in her. :-)
Oh, back to today's events........we then headed across town and ate at Cracker Barrel. After eating I happened upon some cute Easter outfits for granddaughters (& a red tractor tshirt for Kendal). Like 'em alot! So, Nana & Pop bought matching outfits for the 6 youngest girls. Hope they still fit them in 3 months. We then took the crock pots to Mom's and to show her the dresses and check on her elbow. Elbow is great and looks good (bad bruising about it). But she notices on one of the dresses a stain. Yep, leave it up to Mimi to notice a small minute stain. So, Tony & me head back to the "mall area" at noon time to exchange the dress. Simple enough though. Then we head back to Lone Oak and go to Super Valu to get ready for the (shhhhhhhh) SNOW! Yipee! Grab $200 worth of food and pull out and I remember that I forgot to get garlic bread and the hamburger meat for the spaghetti I'm gonna cook. We turn around and my sweet, lovely, special, great husband goes back into the grocery and gets those 2 things for us. We get home and unload the groceries. I put them away, sort our dirty clothes and then help Jeremy with the Christmas deco breakdown. He just left about 1/2 hour ago and I sat down finally. But I am in a very good mood today. Accomplished alot today and did you hear................it's gonna SNOW!
Tony applied for school bus driver job today. In the process of this, he called Waterway Ag and for the first time was able to talk to one of the owners and express some of the truths of what really happened when he ended up without a job 3 years ago with them. Felt really, really good for Tony & me to finally get some of that off our chests. Hell yeah!!
Gonna play on FB now.

Hoping 20teen years are better than single digit years have been

Yeah, I know. It's been a while. If you know me at all then you know I've been kinda busy. I'm gonna try to make this short. Ha! By the way, I'm already wore out this morning from busting my ass since 7:45 this morning picking up the house for the cleaning ladies and it is now 8:36 AND THEY ARE NOT EVEN HERE YET!!!!!! The sooner they get here then the sooner Tony & I get to sit comfortably somewhere in our own house. Musical rooms with "Alice" are no fun trying to stay out of the way.
Casey has been here for 2 months now. Yep, that's the truth if you didn't already know it. Casey, sweet Chloe (almost 5 mo) & NOLAN (almost 2 yo) the boss of our house now. If he don't want it, it ain't happening and you have to listen to him SCREAM for as much as 1 to 1 1/2 hours until he is satisfied with whatever he started screaming about in the first place. They have been here since November 9th or there about.
Have you ever heard the reasons why people have children in the 20s or 30s and NOT in their 40s or 50s? If you haven't, then come on by and Tony & me will be more than glad to explain it to you. AAAGH! Love them but I would prefer for me to stay in my own home instead of an insane asylum. So our #1 priority is to help Casey's little family find somewhere to start a happy home. Preferably by the middle of February.
On to other things........

Make list of who to buy for.
Get ideas for our 11 grandkids.
Make a list which includes map with highlighted items for certain stores and then a Sam's list, a Super Valu list and the oh so dreaded WalMart list.
Leaving the house early in the morning for shopping. YUCK!!!!!!! I hate shopping.
Up early (not a morning person) and back home in 7 1/2 hours. We felt pretty good about it. (Did anyone know that WalMart had a wooden shed to the side that sold gift cards? Ahhhhhh) But didn't get Sam's done.
Check everything out the next morning......WalMart screwed up the $1000 worth of gift cards we bought. Imagine that!
Early next day. Here we go, back to the mall area with the traffic and all, but we got the WalMart cards handled and the Sam's list bought. Through shopping. Absolutely 100% through! Merry #%*^@> Xmas!
